A tearful Mindy McCready confirmed to the New York Daily News that she carried on a longterm affair with Yankee star pitcher Roger Clemens. “I cannot refute anything in the story,” the country singer says of reports that she met Clemens in 1990 when she was 15 years old and singing in a karaoke contest at a Florida bar.
Clemens, then with the Boston Red Sox, was 28 and a married father of two at the time. "Yes, I have known Roger Clemens for a long time," McCready told the paper in a prepared statement. "He's a kind and caring man.”
McCready's father, Tim McCready, told the New York Post that his daughter's relationship with the baseball star didn't turn physical until years after their first meeting, when Mindy's engagement to Lois & Clark actor Dean Cain broke off in 1998. He says their affair was an "on again, off again thing" he also describes star pitcher Clemens as a "gentleman".

Scott Weiland Sentenced to Eight Days in Jail

Former Velvet Revolver singer Scott Weiland was sentenced Monday to eight days in jail for a second DUI conviction following a Nov. 11 arrest. Weiland, who was not present at the Van Nuys, Calif. court, was represented by an attorney who entered a no contest plea on the singer's behalf. He was also ordered to complete an 18-month alcohol education class and pay nearly $2,000 in fines.
Weiland, 40, has run afoul of the law numerous times over the years: He was convicted of DUI after a 2003 arrest in Hollywood, arrested on domestic-violence charges in 2001, and jailed for drug offenses in the 1990s.
Ashley Dupré Sues Joe Francis

Ashley Alexandra Dupré, the New Jersey woman at the center of the New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer call-girl scandal, filed suit Monday against Girls Gone Wild founder Joe Francis and his film company – claiming he exploited her name and image for profit.
The lawsuit seeks more than $10 million in damages. In legal documents, Dupré alleges that Girls Gone Wild representatives approached her while she was vacationing in Florida in 2003, offered her alcohol and cajoled her into exposing her breasts for their cameras when she was just 17 (and not of proper legal age to sign a release form allowing her to be filmed).
Since then, the suit claims, Girls Gone Wild has illegally exploited Dupré's name, picture, voice and likeness in a number of deceptive ad campaigns and on Web sites.
Francis said he was "surprised and in fact amazed" by the lawsuit, noting he has not released new video of Dupré "due to corporate policy of not using footage of individuals younger than 18" and asserting she gave her consent on video, providing identification.
"She's seeking $10 million for topless photos taken in front of a room full of people, including two newspapers and multiple crews we had in the room," adds Francis. "These images were taken in public places and contain no sexual contact. We expect to triumph in this matter."
Last month, Francis was released from a jail in Nevada, where he continues to face federal tax evasion charges. He is currently fighting separate charges in Florida for allegedly filming underage girls in Panama City. Francis claims that the girls in question lied about their age. Dupré, who turns 23 this week, has not appeared publicly since the Gov. Spitzer scandal broke.

Carrie Underwood Breaks Down During Atlanta Show

Carrie Underwood had an emotional moment during her concert with Keith Urban at The Arena At Gwinnett Center outside of Atlanta on Thursday. During a performance of "Don't Forget to Remember Me," from her album Some Hearts, the country chanteuse broke down into tears in the middle of the song's second chorus. According to an audience member, the singer cried through several lines of the song – then attempted to tackle the chorus but broke down again.
According to a rep for Underwood, the emotional song was inspired by the singer's mother – and leaving home. In it, she sings: "Hey Momma ... tell Me-maw that I miss her/ Yeah, I should give her a call/ And make sure you tell Daddy that I'm still his little girl."
According to her rep, "Carrie just got overwhelmed in the moment with the song 'Don't Forget To Remember Me.' When she reflects on what has happened to her in the past few years since Idol, coupled with the crowds' reaction to that song, she just reacts in performance."
But the night wasn't all dour for the former Idol. According to a concertgoer, Underwood later perked up, telling the crowd she's found the love of her life. His name? Ace – her dog!

Wesley Snipes gets 3 years in prison

Wesley Snipes pretty much decided in 1999 that he's not going to pay taxes anymore. Eight years later, hello, welcome to your three prison sentence. Wesley, however, made a last minute move to appease the government by cutting them a check for $5 million. It, uh, didn't work.
